I am really thankful that this article has been published to raise peoples awareness of the poor service we are experiencing. The lack of an effective train service is making my working life so difficult. I am late to work and I end up wanting to leave early for fear of not getting a train.I will not be leaving London till 5pm but looking on the website at the live time-table it currently says that all trains going northwards are cancelled... I am truely dreading the journey home and I think it will be train hell again tonight. I too have signed the petition.  − meteorologist, St Albans

Just been reading First Capital Connect's 'Facebook' site - yes even at times like these, they can pay someone to monitor and respond to their 178 'fans' on Facebook, and they're also on Twitter too. It says on FB of their Mission: Our aim is to get the basics right and provide a train service which is punctual and reliable, clean and safe.
