Cunningham Hill Junior School pupils to unveil new sign for school hub

Pupils from a school in St Albans will proudly unveil a brand new sign and logo they designed as part of a competition tomorrow.

Children from Cunningham Hill Junior School entered a competition to design a sign which best captured the purpose of Cunningham Hub, a community project based in the former library building.

The winners were told just before Christmas and now they will watch excitedly as the sign will be installed over the entrance doors to the Hub in Cell Barnes Lane on Monday.

The chair of the management committee, Councillor Robert Donald, said they received several excellent entries and warmly congratulated the winners for their simple, clear and vibrant design.

He said: "The winning pupils have produced a simple but very effective and colourful design which captures the essence of what the Hub is all about and can provide for our Cunningham local community."

"The design will work well both as an entrance sign to welcome people and inform everyone where the Hub is actually located at the end of the Cell Barnes Lane shops and also as a logo that can be used on all future correspondence, publicity and information material."

"On behalf of the committee I would also like to thank all the pupils at Cunningham Hill Junior School who took part in the competition and the Head Teacher, Ms Justine Elbourne-Cload, for arranging it for us."

The Hub is available between 4.30pm and 10.00pm on weekdays and during weekends until 10pm.
