Police have released photos of five accordians they would like to trace, after they were stolen from a home in Park Street.

Criminals forced entry into a conservatory to the rear of a house, lived in by an 80-year-old man in Orchard Drive, sometime between 2.30pm and 10.45pm on Wednesday, February 5.

They have then searched the property before leaving via a side door with the stolen items.

Two of the instruments were made by Hohner, a Musette and an Atlantic, another by Scarlatti, another was a Casali Verona and the fifth was made by Geraldo.

Assistant Investigator Nina Garrard said: "This burglary has left an elderly gentleman deprived of his much-loved musical instruments.

"I’m keen to speak to anyone who knows anything about it. In particular, I would like to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time, anyone who has seen these accordions since Wednesday or anyone who has been offered them for sale."

Anyone with information about the incident should contact police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference F3/14/174. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
