Have your say on county council election boundaries

St Albans & Harpenden Review: Have your say on county council election boundaries Have your say on county council election boundaries

Residents are being asked to have their say on new electoral division boundaries for Hertfordshire.

The Independent Local Government Boundary Commission for England is consulting residents as the first part of an electoral review, which will re-draw division boundaries across the whole county.

This comes after the commission announced that it is minded to recommend that the county council should continue to have 77 county councillors in the future.

It will now collect information from people and groups to help it to produce a new pattern of electoral divisions to accommodate 77 county councillors.

In drawing up new boundaries, the commission says its aims to deliver electoral equality for voters in council elections so that each county councillor represents roughly the same number of voters.

Residents have until June 23 to submit their views. For more information visit www.consultation.lgbce.org.uk and www.lgbce.org.uk.
