Commuters and people working in St Albans will save £4 on the cost of all-day parking at certain car parks in the city centre following tariff changes.
This announcement comes after St Albans District Council introduced a new parking strategy designed to make the most of available capacity at its car parks.
Previously, drivers parking for more than five hours a day in St Albans would have had to pay £9 at the following NCP-managed car parks:
•Bricket Road North
•Keyfield Terrace
•Gombards
•Townsend Avenue
Now, they will only have to pay £5 at these car parks to park for more than five hours a day. At NCP managed, council-owned car parks elsewhere in the city it will cost £10 if parking for more than six hours a day.
New signs will also be introduced to help commuters and workers and shoppers, find car parks. A pay by phone service will also be installed at all council-owned car parks.
