A St Albans care home opened its doors to a host of furry friends on Friday as part of Dementia Awareness Week.

Fosse House in Ermine Close welcomed pets in to work for the afternoon, including a bearded dragon, as well as dressing spending the day in animal themed fancy dress.

Brave staff members also took part in the home’s very own version of the Bushtucker Trial, as seen on the TV series, ‘ I’m a celebrity get me out of here’.

This is just one of the many fundraising activities the care home have organised in support of the Alzheimer’s Society - next month James Healey, who is part of the Fosse House team, will be doing a bungee jump in aid of the charity.

Mr Healey said: "I have been working alongside people living with dementia for four years this April. During this time I have met and continue to meet some of the most amazing individuals.

"As a Dementia Champion for Quantum Care I want to do everything I possibly can to raise awareness for this cause."
