Record number attend Family Discovery Morning at St Albans Cathedral

St Albans & Harpenden Review: Record number attend Family Discovery Morning Record number attend Family Discovery Morning

A record number of families walked through the doors of St Albans Cathedral during half term to attend the ever popular Family Discovery Morning.

Almost 200 visitors flocked to the Cathedral to uncover the secrets of 'The Wild Things' hidden in the very fabric of the building, which included dragons, beasts, and wild animals.

The fun morning is a free activity which takes children on a fascinating trail around the building and invites them to take part in arts and crafts activities.

Children took part in building their very own 'Wild Thing' in the form of a sparkling snake, measuring almost 1.5 metres long.

Family Discovery Morning organiser said: "We were thrilled to see so many children and their parents and carers at the Family Discovery Morning this week.  It's a great opportunity for visitors young and old to find out more about the Cathedral and their local heritage.

"We have a busy summer programme planned, including special children's events and workshops to commemorate the First World War, and we look forward to welcoming everyone".
