Harpenden Carnival will feature amazing aerobatic display and gravity defying stunts
An amazing aerobatic display and gravity defying stunts are just some of the things on offer at this year’s Harpenden Carnival.
Organisers for more than 40 years, Harpenden Roundtable, hope to host the biggest and best carnival this Saturday in Rothamsted Park.
This year’s main attractions include an aerobatic display, gravity defying stunts on motorbikes and mountain bikes, as well as more than 50 stalls selling arts and crafts, free face painting, children’s activities and a sheep show.
Paul Pepperell, carnival organiser said: "We have some great acts coming and we hope that this year will be the best in years.
"We have some great charities, which we are really proud to be supporting, hopefully we will be able to raise as much as possible for these great causes."
Back by popular demand is the battle of the school bands, and this year’s carnival will feature acts from St George's, Roundwood and Sir John Lawes Schools as well as the Rockschool.
Over the last ten years the carnival has raised more than £96,000 for charities, with a further £20,000 to £25,000 going to local groups such as Scouts, Explorers and Red Cross.
This year’s carnival will raise money for Great Ormond Street, Peace Hospice in Watford, NOAH Enterprise Luton , Breast Cancer Care and Community Meeting Point, Harpenden.
Harpenden Roundtable are also supported by the 41 Club, Circle, Tangent, Inner Wheel, Red Cross, fire brigade, Scouts and Explorers to organise the event.
The carnival will run from 12.15pm to 6pm.
