Residents of a St Albans care home have celebrated summer with a "fantastic" beach-themed party.

The team at Fosse House care home brought the beach to Ermine Close for their annual garden party on July 20.

The summer beach party began at 2pm with the home and grounds decorated with beach themed decorations including carnival cut outs, a coconut shy and mini sandpits.

The entertainment included a Punch and Judy show with magic, rides on the visiting donkeys Charlie and Dermot, as well as a host of other beach party entertainments.

Guests, who included residents, staff, family and friends, were able to enjoy beach style sausage and chips, ice cream from a traditional ice cream cart and a Pimms tent and minibar.

Manager Pauline Marlborough said: "It has been a fantastic afternoon and we are delighted to have had such a great turn out, I am so proud of my team for their efforts, the residents have absolutely loved it."
