Update: M25 closed for four hours following crash
The anti-clockwise M25 was closed for four hours between J22 (A1081 St Albans) and J21a (A405 St Albans) after an accident.
Emergency services were called the incident at 6.30am. Motorists were advised to avoid the area as there were considerable delays back to J26.
As the incident was cleared road users were advised to exit at J22 and follow the Hollow Square diversion symbol via the A1081, A414 and A405 to rejoin the M25 at J21A, but that diversion route is also heavily congested.
