Marcus McGuinness may be used to working behind the scenes as head chef at Welwyn Garden City’s Auberge du Lac, but now he is in the spotlight.

He features alongside some of the UK’s most prestigious chefs in Kingdom of Cooks: Conversations with Britain’s New Wave Chefs by food critic Andy Lynes.

The Brocket Hall-based chef says: “I thoroughly enjoyed talking to Andy Lynes for Kingdom of Cooks, and I am really pleased to be included in his line up of some of the most talented and ambitious chefs in the country.“

Andy’s book considers the pressures of working in a top restaurant, while revealing a selection of secrets to producing exquisite food.

Marcus, who gained two coveted AA rosettes for Auberge du Lac in his first year, is joined by Simon Rogan of L’Enclume, Cartmel and Fera at Claridges in London, Mary-Ellen McTague, of Aumbry in Manchester and Gary Usher at the Sticky Walnut in Chester among others in Andy’s book.

The Welwyn chef previously worked at two Michelin starred restaurant Hibiscus where he featured on BB2’s Great British Menu.
