What do you love about Cassiobury Park? Is it taking your kids on the little train or in the paddling pools that you used to enjoy so much yourself when you were young? Is it the long walks or runs along the canal, or tramping through the leafy, shady Whippendell Woods with your dog? Playing Pooh Sticks on the bridge over the river? Or is it the fun runs, obstacle courses, fun fairs and firework displays that really make it a park for all seasons?

Love Parks Week runs from July 25 to August 2 nationwide, to celebrate our country’s green spaces, and a series of events is taking place in Cassiobury Park to mark the occasion and remind us all just why we love it so much.

Starting on Friday, July 25 is the Apex Sports Taster, who will be holding sessions using inflatables at the bandstand area, adjacent to Cha Cha Cha Café.

From Saturday, July 26, take part in the Go Ride Races, organised by Watford Cycle Hub, starting at the bandstand area. Then on Sunday, July 28 why not try one of the Cassiobury Park Croquet Club taster sessions?

If history is more your scene, then you might like the Heritage Cycle Rides, where you’ll learn about the history of the park and Whippendell Woods from the saddle, from Monday, July 28, with longer routes available on Wednesday, July 30 and Friday, August 1.

The week finishes with a bang on Saturday, August 2 with the Jive Swing Jazz Musical and Dance Festival, an afternoon of performances – and audience participation – from local and national performers.
