1) Théresè Raquin

Lust, betrayal, murder and mental torture all feature heavily in the Company of Ten’s upcoming production of Emile Zola’s gripping psychological thriller about Thérèse, a young woman pressured into marrying her sickly cousin Camille. Bored and frustrated by her joyless existence in a dingy apartment above a Parisian haberdashery shop, she embarks on a passionate affair with her husband’s best friend, setting in motion a horrifying sequence of events.

2) Zygmunt Day and Echo Pressure

Originally Zygmunt’s solo project, Echo Pressure was put together over the space of around two years, during the recording of the album On Streets That Know, released in June 2014. The current line-up features four core players: Zygmunt on guitar, keys and vocals, Giancarlo Grasso on guitar and keys, Joe Hyam on drums and Nathan Kerntiff on bass.

3) Willibald Guggenmos: Celebrity Organ Recital

The eminent Swiss organist comes to St Albans Cathedral for the first time to present a programme of some well known music by Bach, Messiaen, Liszt and Vierne, mixed with unknown treasures from the romantic period, Fantasia on Joy to the World by Edwin H Lemare and the Storm-Fantasy by Jacques Vogt. The recital is completed with two short exciting pieces from the contemporary Dutch composer Toon Hagen. Entry is free with a retiring collection in aid of the International Organ Festival Society.
