2. Arabian Nights

The present day fuses with ancient tales of love, death, betrayal and magic. Re-told by directors John Keogh and Laura Eddy, this production is exotic, funny and visually stunning. King Shahryar discovers his wife in the arms of a slave. In a fit of rage, he kills them both on the bed. From then on, every night he marries and kills a virgin girl so as never to be betrayed again.

3. Handel and Haydn

St Albans Choral Society’s main anniversary concert to mark 70 years of choral singing in the town. All four of Handel’s majestic Coronation Anthems and Haydn’s Nelson Mass will be performed on the night.

4. Soul’d Out Party Night

Party on down to Motown and soul tunes from the 1960s and ‘70s. A 13-piece band will play two sets of music from the likes of Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin and The Supremes.

5. JamJar 

The monthly live music event features up-and-coming talent from the University of Hertfordshire and further afield. The night is hosted by INFUSE, the university’s record label, and past performers at JamJar have gone on to release albums.
