Have you ever watched an episode of Sherlock or Luther and thought you could do a better job? Now you have the chance with a brand new murder mystery manhunt game that’s coming to St Albans in February.

In a game mixing elements of Pokemon-Go and the popular board game Cluedo, players will need to hunt across the city locating 15 virtual witnesses, solving clues, eliminating suspects and eventually catching the real killer.

Taking place through an Android-only phone app, the game will see teams of between two and six players competing to unveil the murderer on Saturday, February 25, starting at the Inn on the Park cafe in Verulamium Park.

Becky Griffiths from CluedUpp who have organised the event says: “Since we first started St Albans was always going to be one of our very first destinations. We live nearby in Bedfordshire and have often spent an afternoon walking around the city. Verulamium Park in particular is stunning and there are plenty of landmarks to build the game around.”

A recent CluedUpp event in Milton Keynes sold out within just five days and an upcoming event in Manchester already has 1,000 players lined-up - but this is the first event of its kind in St Albans and the organisers are hoping for a similarly high turn-out.

Tickets for the event go on sale on January 30 and it is expected that only 50 tickets will be released.
