A solo musician from the BBC Proms will star at the Dacorum Symphony Orchestra’s autumn concert being held in Kings Langley.

This concert provides an opportunity to hear virtuoso playing from Francesca Barritt, a renowned violinist who is equally at home as a concert soloist, orchestral leader and chamber musician.

Francesca is an experienced orchestral leader, having been chosen by both the Royal College and Royal Academy to lead their symphony and chamber orchestras.

She is now the leader of Orchestra of St Paul's, with whom she recently appeared as soloist at Cadogan Hall and has also lead the orchestra at Ballet Rambert and Multi Story Orchestra.

She plays regularly as principal second violinist in Orchestra of the Swan, has recently been appointed as a member of City of London Sinfonia and plays annually in the BBC Proms.

The Orchestra for this event, on Sunday, October 16, is conducted by Thomas Loten - a notable figure in the Hertfordshire music scene since the 1970s - will perform a popular classical concert suitable for all ages and tastes.

To enable budding young musicians to hear a full 60-piece orchestra and an exceptional soloist tickets for those aged under 18 are free.
