Strumming his way to success in the UK in 2004, Australian-born guitarist Craig Ogden (right) became the youngest instrumentalist to receive a Fellowship Award from the Royal Northern College of Music, which he followed by classical chart-topping success with his albums The Guitarist and Summertime in the summer of 2010 and 2011 respectively.
Having studied guitar from the age of seven and percussion from the age of 13, Craig has performed concertos with UK orchestras, plus ones in Latvia, Russia, South Africa, Sweden and back home in Australia.
The talented player is next performing a Guitar Recital at Beechwood Park School with a programme covering the core guitar repertoire of Albeniz, Giuliani, Barrios, through to contemporary pieces by Roland Dyens, Gary Ryan and Miroslav Tadic.
The concert is at Beechwood Park School, Pickford Road, Markyate on Friday, January 27 at 7pm. Details: 01582 840333 ext. 4, email louisepeck@beechwood.herts.sch.uk
