Your town is going under. Time is running out to have your say and save it from destruction. What steps do you take?

The Town Meeting is one of a series of intriguing events at the University of Hertfordshire Arts (UH Arts) this month. Brought to you by the award-winning theatre company Cap-a-Pie, this latest original, immersive theatre production puts the audience at the centre of the problem and demands solutions.

Inspired by research into how communities decide what’s important and why, Cap-a-Pie shines a light on Britain’s changing political landscape and gives the audience the power to completely change the story.

The play explores how communities react to external pressures and in what way they choose to represent themselves. All audience members are give the opportunity to be involved in this fully interactive show.

The Town Meeting will be at Weston Auditorium, de Havilland Campus from March 22-23.

Visitors are also asked to question their sense of belonging in UH Galleries' latest exhibition Interlopers by Permindar Kaur. The new body of work presented by the highly regarded British artist features a dramatic new site-specific installation spanning the vast glass front of the gallery space.

Over the last three decades Permindar’s work has explored the human condition of who we are and how we fit in. Polar-fleece sculptures have long been a signature of her work, which combines the innocence of cuddly toys with an underlying threat or vulnerability.

Now with her latest work, Interlopers, a single species has evolved to inhabit the gallery space – black, faceless, fleece teddy bears that are climbing, travelling, exploring and infesting the space. Over the seven-week exhibition, Permindar proposes a dynamic environment where the creatures move around, others are introduced and some escape.

Interlopers exhibition will go on from March 18 to May 7.

Other events at UH Arts include the film Sherlock Homes: A Game of Shadows (March 17, 7.30pm) and De Havilland Philharmonic Orchestra: Elgar Violin Concerto (March 20, 7.30pm).
