An extra £1 million has been found for road repairs in Hertfordshire by the county council’s highways department.
Highways portfolio holder, Councillor Stuart Pile, announced the extra budget at a meeting on Monday, calling it "very positive news for the people of Hertfordshire."
The projects which will benefit from the money have yet to be announced.
However, Liberal Democrat Councillor Malcolm Cowan reminded the council that in highways terms, a million pounds doesn't go very far.
Councillor Martin Frearman added that the money would equate to £12,000 per county division, enough to repair 100 metres of cracked paving.
