The mayor of Harpenden has announced the winner of the town’s annual Christmas Poster Competition.
Nicola Linacre presented High Beeches pupil Zoe with a certificate for her drawing, which will be made into the mayor’s Christmas card.
Zoe’s design included pictures of a snowman, sleigh, holly wreath and a Christmas pudding.
Councillor Linacre said: “I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the children's imaginations at work and there were some really lovely ideas and beautiful drawings entered for the competition.
“The deputy mayor Rosemary Farmer and I were so pleased to see the tremendous effort that the children had put into their posters and it made judging all the harder.
“Thank you to every single child who took part.”
Zoe received a £25 WHSmith gift card and now has the honour of switching on the town’s Christmas lights on Sunday.
Her school was also awarded a cheque for £100.
