A charity that supports blind people living in Hertfordshire had received a grant of £500 from the county council.
Herts Society for the Blind will use the money to provide equipment at St Albans City Hospital.
The charity serves more than one million people living in the county.
The money came from Hertfordshire County Council's locality budget scheme.
