A teenager from Harpenden has received an award for the voluntary work she does in her school’s sports department.
Hannah Berry has been named the winner of the Herts Sports Partnership Services’ School Volunteer of the Year Award.
During her time at Roundwood Park School the Year 11 pupil has been a district young sporting ambassador and has run netball and rounders clubs for younger students.
Michelle Rooney, head of physical education at the school, said: "Hannah is a role model and a credit to Roundwood Park.
"She is a very deserving winner. We are all very proud of her."
Hannah beat off competition from 30 other nominees for the title.
She was presented with the award at a ceremony at the end of last year.
She said: "I had such a fantastic evening and what a thrill to have won this award."
