Mark Arthur Simpson, 39, of Abbots Avenue West, St Albans. On January 2, 2013, stole a DVD worth £13.50, from Tesco Metro, St Albans. Discharged conditionally for 18 months. Compensation, costs: £113.50.

Luke Harvey, 28, of Black Boy Wood, Bricket Wood. On July 26, 2012, used a vehicle without insurance. Also, on same date, used a vehicle  for which no plating certificate had been issued when the maximum axle weight was exceeded; also, on same date, used a vehicle where the maximum gross weight shown in the plate was exceeded. Fine, costs: £590. Banned from driving for six months.

Andrzej Stefani, 35, of Tassell Hall, Redbourn. On July 31, 2012, used a vehicle without insurance; also, on July 31, 2012, drove without a valid licence. Fine, costs: £900. Six penalty points.
