Girls' school students win top sports award
Pupils from a St Albans girls' school have been rewarded with a prestigious sports award.
St Albans Girls' School students were declared the winners for their outstanding services to sport during the last 12 months at a ceremony in the University of Hertfordshire.
The school in Sandridgebury Lane, were recognised for their sporting achievements including 150 students picking up the Sports Leadership Award, gaining third place in the National Cross Country event and boasting finalists in County Athletics, football, volleyball and badminton.
Lauren Cripps, head of sport, said: "This is a fabulous achievement and we are all delighted to receive this award.
"It is an amazing result of the dedication shown by the P.E staff and their desire to pass on their passion for sport."
