Man charged with criminal damage after The Avalon House Hotel's door is kicked and shattered in St Albans

A young man has been charged for allegedly kicking and smashing a glass door in a St Albans hotel.
Police were called to The Avalon House Hotel in London Road, in the early hours of yesterday (Sunday) morning to reports of a man visiting a guest at the hotel, kicking a glass door.
The man allegedly kicked the glass door causing it to open and shatter at 12:45am.
Ryan Courtney, 18, of Alban Avenue has been charged for criminal damage and will appear at St Albans Magistrates Court on Thursday, January 24.
Scott Biggans, manager at the hotel, said he appreciated the quick repsonse by the police.
Mr Biggans said: "We would like to thank the St Albans Safer Neighbourhood Team for their quick response and assistance.
"The police are not acknowledged enough and they look after us here in St Albans."
