The air ambulance that was travelling to a crash on the M1 has been forced to abort its trip due to the weather.
The helicopter had been called to assist paramedics treating people who were injured in a crash between Junction 6A and Junction 7 at about 1.15pm.
However the heavy fog has meant it has had to turn back.
A doctor has been called to the scene instead and is currently making the journey from London by road.
The northbound carriage of the motorway, which had been closed to allow the helicopter to land, will be opened soon.
All lanes southbound remain closed.
