Residents had the opportunity to try out the latest fitness equipment at an open day in St Albans.

Nuffield Health Fitness and Wellbeing Centre in Highfield Park Drive invited people to try out their new gym on Saturday, January 19 following a refurbishment.

General manager Joanna Kelly said: "My team and I are really proud of the refurbishments completed at the club and thank everyone who came to help us celebrate.

"The event was great and really encouraging to see so many people keen to achieve their health and fitness goals for 2013."

£73 or £85 a month membership!!!??

What a rip off, especially with the new Wesminster Lodge sports centre.

I really enjoyed the day! Great Facilities, equipment and friendly staff.

Had a trial at Westminster Lodge and didn't find it great. Moody staff, untidy and dirty.

You get what you for in Leisure centres it seems......
