Residents are being asked for their ideas on how St Albans can be made a safer place to live.

The district council’s Community Safety Partnership, which works alongside the police and fire service, has set up a survey to give people the chance to highlight the issues that are most important to them.

Councillor Beric Read, portfolio holder for community engagement and localism at the council, said: "The district is already a safe place and crime has been decreasing for the last five years.

"However, the Community Safety Partnership wants to make sure the district remains safe and an unwelcoming place for criminals.

"We need the input of local people to help us do this. Please tell us your views by completing the questionnaire."
