Residents will be able to take advantage of what St Albans has to offer at this weekend’s Residents First weekend.

Visitors will get the chance to try something new on Saturday, January 26 and Sunday, January 27 by visiting local attractions, restaurants, businesses and hotels, with exclusive offers or even for free.

Local attractions will be holding special events to sample highlights in the area, including the city’s cathedral which will be opening their doors to encourage residents to take part in an Ecclesiastical Catwalk featuring the Cathedral's vestments.

The clergy of the cathedral will take to the catwalk to find out all about the origins and significance of these religious garments, and have a rare opportunity to see their embroidery close up.

The catwalk will take place twice on Saturday at 11am and 2pm in the Lady Chapel, alongside other attractions including Norman tower tours. Vouchers are available from the Residents First Information Point, on a first come, first served basis.

Other attractions and events, include the Musuem of St Albans, Verulamium Musuem, Redbourn Village Museum, Redbournbury Mill, St Albans and Herts Architectural and Archaeological Society, St Albans Arts Development Team workshops,St Albans and District Talking Newspapers, St Albans Market, St Albans Organ Theatre and St Albans South Signal Box.

Due to the snow conditions, Butterfly World has decided to cancel their planned project on Sunday.
