A 60-year-old man from St Albans has been arrested on suspicion of stealing thousands of pounds worth of fishing equipment.

The equipment, which has been valued at £4,000, was stolen from a garage in Hitchin.

Hertfordshire Constabulary traced the man after the items were put up for sale on the auction website eBay.

The man was arrested at his home on January 22.

He has been bailed to return to Stevenage police station on February 26.
