M1 delays as car catches fire at exit road at Junction 8

Motorists faced long delays this morning after a car caught fire on the M1.
Emergency services were called to the exit road at Junction 8 at 8.45am.
Two lanes of the busy motorway were closed as firefighters tackled the blaze.
It is not yet known how the silver Vectra caught alight.
All lanes have now reopened but there is still heavy congestion back to Junction 9 at Redbourn.
