A care home in Redbourn has been recognised for its contribution to caring for residents living with dementia.

St Matthews care home in Chequer Lane, has been awarded a dementia care accreditation by Hertfordshire County Council.

The care home was judged by staff at the county council after assessors spent an entire day there, observing staff training, policies, procedures and life in the home, while speaking to residents and staff.

Manager Emma Pead said: "It is difficult for families when looking for dementia care for a loved one, to measure how good the care is at a care home.

"With this accreditation we can openly demonstrate that we have been recognised for our outstanding care."
