Teenagers from St Albans and Harpenden are in the running to win a seat in the UK Youth Parliament Election.
Five youngsters from the district are hoping to win one of the 12 seats available in Hertfordshire.
This year’s manifestos include promises to reduce transport fares for young people, improve career guidance in schools and increase awareness of environmental issues.
Candidates also want to tackle more difficult issues such as youth crime and teenage drug-taking and plan to raise awareness of sexual health.
The youth parliament was set up in 2000 to give a voice to young people in their local community.
Residents can cast their vote until Friday 15th February.
