New hut to be built for Scouts in Harpenden
Scouts in Harpenden have come one step closer to their dream of building a new hut thanks to a grant from the Veolia Environmental Trust.
The 9th Scouts, who are based on Kinsbourn Green, have been given £50,000 towards the rebuild.
Once completed, the new hut will also be used by other community groups in the town.
Laurie McNabb, the trust’s executive director, said: "This is great news for Harpenden and the community and congratulations to the scouts on their achievement.
"We look forward to the scheme starting.
"We have been awarding grants to community and environmental projects like this one for over 15 years now and everyone has made a real difference to people’s lives."
