Residents will be able to try out different sports and activities at a community day in St Albans.
The event is being held at Longacres Open Space on Sunday, February 24 to celebrate its recent £45,000 development.
The space now features a picnic area and new activity equipment for children up to 15-years-old.
The development, funded by St Albans District Council, was completed following a consultation with residents and children and Beaumont School.
During the open day residents will also be able to help put the finishing touches to the new space by cleaning and repainting the equipment.
Councillor Mike Wakely, portfolio holder for sports leisure and heritage for the council, said: "Come along and join in this wonderful community project aimed at improving the facilities at the Longacres Open Space and making them more attractive to use."
