Film lovers will be able to watch the movie adaptation of one of Dickens’ classics inside the beautiful surroundings of St Albans Cathedral.
Great Expectations will be the first feature film to be shown in the nave on Thursday, February 28.
BAFTA winning director Mike Newell, who was brought up in St Albans, will give an introductory talk before the movie.
Canon Kevin Walton from the cathedral said: "Mike Newell has long connections with St Albans Cathedral and is a keen supporter through the Education Trust.
"We are really pleased to have a screening of Great Expectations in this very ancient and atmospheric place."
Tickets to the screening, which cost £12, are available from the cathedral’s bookshop.
Alternatively residents can book tickets by calling 01727 890 217.
