Hollywood A-Lister, Tom Cruise’s visit to a St Albans Indian restaurant has been made into a film as part of the city’s film festival.

In August last year, Tom Cruise dined at Veer Dhara and now his visit has been turned into a music video, which has reached the finals in the St Albans Film Festival. The video about Cruise’s late night visit to the restaurant in St Peter’s Street will now go up against 11 other music videos competing for the Best Music Video award.

Tom Tom was created by folk singer Daria Kulesh.

Leoni Kibbey, film festival director, said: "Tom Tom is a really funny video featuring lots of people wearing Tom Cruise masks eating curry.

"This film festival is really about getting talent like Daria's out there and enabling local residents and visitors to the area to see what a wealth of creative talent we have uncovered, both in St Albans itself and also further afield."

After the visit, Darshit Hora, the manager of Veer Dhara spoke to the Review and said the actor arrived with several companions and bodyguards, with the request the meal would be a "low key affair."

The group ordered fish and chicken starters, two lobsters, two chicken tikka masalas, two lamb dishes, along with rice and bread sides.

Cruise ordered fizzy water and asked for his chicken tikka masala to be spicy.

A friend paid for the bill after the restaurant told Cruise they did not accept American Express.

St Albans film festival will take place next month between March 8 and March 10.
