Anne Main MP: 'We cannot continue to pay Rolls-Royce fees for a Lada service'

St Albans’ MP has said that she is "not surprised" by this morning’s announcement that First Capital Connect has been named as the worst train operator in the country.

Consumer body Which? revealed this morning that the operator, which runs the St Albans to London commuter service, received the worst customer satisfaction score in a new questionnaire.

Anne Main said: "I am not surprised by this result.

"Having said this, Network Rail need to be providing a better service to allow FCC to deliver their franchise agreement, indeed, the recent major disruption to the service was attributable to Network Rail.

"We need to be radically sorting out Network Rail which is at the heart of the problem; we cannot continue to pay Rolls-Royce fees for a Lada service."
