St Albans Rent Secure Scheme a success after housing 24 homeless people in St Albans

A group of homeless people in St Albans have found places to live in the district thanks to a new scheme.

The St Albans Rent Secure Scheme, which is run by the Hightown Praetorian and Churches Housing Association and the district council, found homes for 24 people in the area.

The scheme works with homeless people and private landlords to work out agreements.

Single mother Rachel Park-Denaney is one of the people to have a new home.

She said: "I am very happy that my grown up sons can now visit and stay over at weekends. It just wasn’t possible before finding my new home."

Landlords who are interested in getting involved in the scheme should contact Louise Champness, Private Rented Access Coordinator, on 07787158625.
