Police appealing for information after teenage girl is sexually assaulted
Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was sexually assaulted in St Albans.
The teenage victim had been walking on Hatfield Road towards St Albans rail station from the town centre direction when she was approached from behind by a man who then touched her inappropriately.
The incident happened on Saturday February 16 between 10.15pm and 10.30pm between turnings for Upper Lattimore Road and Beaconsfield Road.
The victim managed to get away and the man walked off in the direction of the station.
The man is described as of Asian appearance, 5ft 5in tall, heavy build and with short black hair. He wore a dark black jacket and jeans.
DC Ailsa Turnbull, from the local crime unit in St Albans, said: “I would urge anyone who saw this incident to contact police as soon as possible.
Or, if you believe you may have been a victim of this same offender, please also get in touch. Your information may be vital to catching and prosecuting this man.”
Anyone with information should contact DC Ailsa Turnbull via the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference number F1/13/537.
Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

What is it with these young 'asian' (too scared to use the 'M' word)men going round sexually assaulting young white girls in the UK?
This isn't the first time the Review has printed a story like this, I remember pretty much the same thing happening a few years back in St.Albans.
I hope the police catch this person, but he'll probably blame his strict religious upbringing and our softy judges will let him walk because it's his right to feel up young kids.
Using the assault of a woman to make broad brush statements about Asians is rather cheap and distasteful.
