Council grant sees homeless shelter open for longer
A homeless drop in service in St Albans has been able to open its doors for longer thanks to a council grant.
With temperatures hovering around the 0 C mark, Open Door has been able to keep their doors open for an extra one and a half hours due to a Keep Warm, Stay Well fund.
The drop-in service in Bricket Road, is open between 1pm and 4pm, Monday to Friday, and will continue with the extended hours till the end of March.
The Keep Warm, Stay Well funding was provided by Hertfordshire County Council to projects contributing to the reduction of deaths and illness resulting from vulnerable people living in cold housing.
