Young people will benefit from free counselling sessions after help from a county council grant.

The London Colney youth project has been awarded £200 to go towards providing free and confidential counselling sessions for young people aged between nine and 19-years-old.

The funding will be used towards the cost of paying for a qualified counsellor to attend twice a week at The Base Youth Project on the High Street. The service aims to help those with a range of issues including family breakdown, self harm, eating disorders, bullying and anxiety.

The cash comes from the council’s locality budget.
