Young people have spent the night under the stars in Harpenden this month to raise £2,000 for a homeless charity.
Thirty young people from the Methodist and Anglican churches in Harpenden and members from the Harpenden scouts, took part in the 24 hour "Sponsored Sleep Out" outside the High Street Methodist Church.
The event raised close to £2,000 to support the work of Herts Young Homeless (hyh), a homeless charity which offers support to vulnerable young people aged 16-24 years who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Hertfordshire.
Young people taking part in the sleep out said: "I never realised homeless people had to sleep in their shoes to stop them from being stolen" and "I wouldn't ever want to be homeless."
The event was organised to mark the first 3 years of joint youth work between the Methodist and Anglican churches in Harpenden.
