Children across the district have designed posters highlighting community safety issues.

Finlay Kiliner and Haadiyah Auladin from Fleetville Junior School, Daniel Eaves from St Columba’s College and Temi Ekujumi from St Dominic Catholic Primary School were named as the winners of the competition.

Councillor Eileen Harris, mayor of St Albans, presented the winners with a certificate and book voucher on Wednesday, February 27.

She said: "I want to congratulate all the children who entered the competition.

"They showed a real understanding of safety issues and communicated these very imaginatively in their artwork.

"All the posters were of a very high standard and showed real flair and creativity."

More than 100 youngsters entered the competition, which was open to Year 3 to Year 6 pupils.
