The Duchess of Cambridge has continued to show her love for the British high street by picking up a dress from a St Albans based fashion line.

Kate Middleton bought the £37 floral print dress from the spring collection at Lovestruck Clothing on Wednesday, February 27.

The pregnant princess bought the dress at the Topshop flagship store in Oxford Street.

Joint directors David Kellard and Jeremy Foster, who both live in St Albans, have been amazed at the reaction to the news.

Mr Kellard said: "It is the most exciting thing that can happen to a brand.

"The exposure from the world is amazing.

"We have had enquiries from places we’ve never heard of."

Yesterday the company’s website received 60,000 web hits compared to its usual audience of about 500.

Head designer Erika Shaw said: "We are very excited that the Duchess of Cambridge has chosen to purchase one of our Lovestruck dresses.

"Kate is a great style ambassador who promotes affordable fashion.

"We are especially pleased the Duchess has selected a dress that accommodates her maternity needs, without her feeling the need to buy from a specific maternity range.

"No doubt the dress will become a wardrobe stable for many years to come."
