Catalytic converter theft in Dellcroft Way, Harpenden

By Zoe Forsey, Senior Reporter
A catalytic converter has been stolen from a car in Harpenden.
The device, which is fitted to cars to make emissions less harmful, was taken from a Volkswagen Sharan in Dellcroft Way.
The theft happened between 8.30pm on Tuesday, February 12 and 10am the following morning.
Following the theft, Hertfordshire Constabulary have issued tips for drivers on how to keep their cars safe.
They include not parking half on the pavement as it makes it easier for thieves to get underneath the car and property-marking catalytic converters.
PCSO Paul Fletcher said: "Look out for people hanging around vehicles at unusual times and make sure you make use of your drive or a garage if you have one."
