St Albans' first film festival begins today

The city will be buzzing with all things film from today as visitor’s welcome St Albans first film festival.

A team of 150 volunteers have been working for months to prepare this weekend’s events, which promises a wide variety of films from local and worldwide directors.

Festival director, Leoni Kibbey said: "I am feeling really excited and it seems to be all out of my control now, so I will just ride with it. At the moment it seems to be going well.

"Visitors can expect lots of excitement with film directors coming in to our city.

"We will have the opening feature film showing later and the launch party this evening, which I am really looking forward to. I’ve got my heels and frock ready."
