Members of the St Albans Ladies Circle raised more than £600 for charity at a pub quiz night.

The group held the fundraiser at The Goat Pub on Wednesday, February 27 in aid of the St Albans and Hertsmere Women’s Refuge.

Pip Lawrenson, the chair of the organisation, said: "We were really pleased with the high turnout on the night and the amazing generosity of those who attended.

"A fantastic evening was had by all.

"We learned some new and interesting facts, and raised £632 for our nominated charity.

"Thanks to all who came."

The money raised on the night brings the group’s fundraising total for the year to more than £1300.

Ms Lawrenson added: "The total raised this year is testament to the hard work and dedication of our core members.

"We started the circle year with just a few members, and we are finishing the circle year with an increased membership, and a fantastic amount of money raised for charity."
