Headteacher Stephanie Gross at Gymboree in St Albans up for top award

A St Albans headteacher has been nominated for a prestigious award which celebrates the best activities, classes and volunteers from in the UK.
Stephanie Gross, headteacher at children's nursery Gymboree, in Hatfield Road, has been nominated for Most Outstanding Activity Leader for the Under 5’s as part of the What’s On 4 2013 Junior Awards.
As well as this award, Gymboree has also been nominated for three other awards including Best National Baby and Toddler Development Activity, Best National Pre-Schooler Development Activity and Best Children’s Party Entertainment.
Susie Williams, owner of the St Albans Gymboree, said "We’re thrilled that Gymboree has been nominated for four awards.
"Steph has a real way with children, and makes each and every child that walks through the door feel special. She is an excellent teacher and she thoroughly deserves to win."
The winners will be announced by TV celebrity host Lucy Piper at an awards ceremony in Brighton in June.
Mrs Thomas, a parent who uses Gymboree, said: "We’ve been coming to Gymboree for over a year and my children love it.
"All the teachers are fantastic and really engage with them. It’s a great atmosphere and they’ve gained so much from coming - it’s the highlight of their week."
