Train rides, beat the goalie and face painting are just some of the things that will be on offer at a May Fair at a St Albans school this weekend.

Cunningham Hill Infants School in Cell Barnes Lane will host the event on Saturday to raise cash for new play equipment.

Headteacher Angela Bettridge said: "This is our major fundraising event and I hope people enjoy the afternoon, have fun and take home plenty of prizes and purchases.

"The money raised at the May Fair will be put towards the cost and installation of a fabulous new elaborate wooden climbing and activity area.

"Let’s make it a great afternoon."

The event will also include a royal-themed tea party, a coconut shy and several arts and crafts activities.

Year 2 pupils will put on a country dancing performance and a DJ will be playing music for guests.

The fundraiser, which has an entry fee of £1 for adults, will run between 11am and 2pm.
